Arrival/Dismissal Procedures
Lane School Arrival and Dismissal Procedure
Bus Riders:
- Bus riders will continue to arrive and dismiss via the bus lane located at the front of the building. Bus riders will enter and exit at the main entrance.
- Please note that the bus lane is for buses only. Cars are not permitted to use that lane.
- If you wish for your child not to ride the bus, please contact the office directly.
Car Riders:
- Car riders will arrive and dismiss in the car rider lane located next to the playground and Early Childhood Center off of Orchard Avenue. Please note that we share our car rider lane with our Preschool learners. We have staggered arrival and dismissal times, so it is very important that all parents arrive at the correct time when dropping off and picking up their child.
- Parents, please remain in your vehicle during drop off and pick up.
- Car Rider arrival begins at 8:15 AM and dismissal begins at 2:45 PM.
- For dismissal, Please do not arrive prior to 2:40 PM. It is very important for the safe and timely dismissal of PreK and Lane students that Lane parents/guardians do not enter the parent pick up line until 2:40 PM.
- We share the car rider lane with the PreK families, and have staggered our arrival and dismissal times. PreK dismissal is just before our dismissal time and will be completed prior to 2:40 PM. If you arrive prior to 2:40 PM to pick up a Lane student, you will be in the PreK parent pick up line. You will be asked to leave the line since PreK dismissal will still be in progress.
- Reminder: DO NOT park on Orchard Ave. Our car rider line runs very smoothly. It is dangerous to cross the street on Orchard Ave. with cars entering and exiting the driveway. It is also a hazard for buses and drivers when cars are parked on the street.
Walkers:
- Walkers will enter and exit the building through the playground door (DOOR 10).
- Walkers are to use the sidewalks on 123rd Street, Orchard Avenue and along the perimeter of the bus lane to safely walk to school.
- For safety reasons, all students should be using the sidewalks, and should not walk in the parking lot, or cross in front of/between the buses.
